BC Infrastructure Benefits, or BCIB for short, is the employer for workers on select Provincial infrastructure projects, including:

  • Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project

  • Highway 1 Four-Laning

  • Broadway Subway Project

We’re directly involved in recruiting, qualifying and supporting the development and training of workers. We help ensure the benefits of the Community Benefits Agreement are implemented across all our worksites.

We go into the communities where projects are being built and recruit eager and available workers. We then qualify and dispatch these workers to a job site.

Professional Development

All CBA projects have specific apprenticeship training ratios. A significant percentage of the workforce will be apprentices, trained by the contractors. Apprentices get hands-on experience and work-based training hours towards completing their Red Seal designation.

Additional Training

All workers, including supervisors, receive Be More Than a Bystander, Indigenous Cultural Competency, and foundational safety training. Everyone is held to the highest standards of safety, respect, and inclusion.

Industry Partners

We work with the ITA, WorkBC, and local service providers to give you the support you need to be successful in your trade. If skills upgrading is needed, BCIB works with industry partners to make sure workers are job ready.

I firmly believe the work BCIB is doing is the right step forward. By providing exciting opportunities for people from all backgrounds to pursue and sustain careers in the trades it allows for the development of a more inclusive work environment. I couldn’t be happier working for a company which has such a great end goal in mind: equality and inclusion.
