Building Opportunity Here

BC Infrastructure Benefits (BCIB) employs skilled trades workers on some of B.C.’s largest public projects. Our role is to supply skilled workers to these projects and help expand the province’s labour pool. Through the Priority Hiring of underrepresented workers, we open doors. Through culture change training, we keep people in the sector. Through training and apprenticeship partnerships, we help workers progress in their careers.

We work with contractors, unions, project owners, and training organizations to pave the way to good-paying, career-building jobs, and a stronger economy for all British Columbians. BCIB is building opportunity here.

Mobilize and grow a safe, diverse, skilled workforce that represents the communities where CBA projects are built.

Partner in the successful delivery of public infrastructure projects and implement the Community Benefits Agreement.

Achieve cost effective delivery of the CBA through strategic partnerships and sound business management.

Respectful Onsite Initiative (ROI)

ROI is a program that helps improve culture at the workplace.

We help workers, companies and organizations foster safe, respectful and inclusive workplaces through our Respectful Onsite Initiative (ROI) training. Proactively fostering a respectful work culture yields a high return on the investment — that’s one of the reasons we call the program ROI.

Indigenous Procurement Initiative

BCIB is proud to support Indigenous-owned vendors.

BCIB recognizes the value of its purchasing power to effect positive social and economic change in BC Indigenous communities. BCIB’s Indigenous Procurement Initiative (IPI) offers a path for Indigenous-owned businesses to provide goods and services to BCIB’s corporate office.

Community Benefits Agreement

The CBA benefits people in the communities where projects are built.

The 2018 collective agreement, called the Community Benefits Agreement, between BCIB and the Allied Infrastructure and Related Council of BC, signalled a shift for the construction industry in the province.

Leadership and Reporting

Check out our record and our leadership.

We know that economic success and progressive workplace practices go hand in hand. These two forces can and must work together—so that priority access to jobs and productive worksites grow B.C.’s skilled workforce. BCIB’s leadership understands that diversity and productivity, when achieved together, can improve outcomes for British Columbians.
